Meet The Mentor: Are You Ready For The Next Big Thing? (Change is Coming)

When you think about how fast technology moves now, have you ever stopped to wonder how fast you really need to start looking at new ideas when it comes to promoting your brand or business online? Apps are cool and all but very soon the next big thing everyone will be jumping on is “Bots” and real time “Avatars”.
It’s going to be very interesting to see how marketing even works in the VR world because it will be so detailed and precise.hold-on-change-is-coming
Imagine this…..Let’s say you rely on Google Ad Words for your ads and you rely also on Facebook. If you have ever used either one of those then you know they have ways you can target people based on certain things like Age, Location, Income, and more.
Imagine how shitty those will be for business owners because of what’s coming next. Let’s pretend a new VR search engine is born, on that engine you can narrow searches down to the most detailed thing, it buries anything else out there….check this out.
Instead of “We Buy Houses”, which is the one phrase most real estate people are bias to, imagine if you could do this.
#1. Make ads that only target people who use voice commands in the following phrases. (from here you start entering what you think people will be saying when they do voice commands….anything is possible).
#2. This is going to be so detailed that if you were angry and searching to sell your home because you are about to foreclose on it and you do a voice search like this in the heat of the moment….“VR Search…find me someone who will buy my fucking house before the end of the god damn month….Please!
If anyone says that as a search word for word and you have that down as an actual search phrase…you win! Imagine being able to type in any phrase you can imagine? forget keywords, let’s capture how people actually talk….even slang terms!
Another example…..“VR Search……Show me the best fucking place to eat Chinese food on a Friday night….I’m drunk! “. If you own a food place and you get bar crowds at night, this could be an angle you might want to explore.
If you think people will even say that, put that in as a search option.changecoming
With the new technology being created right now, you can do that. Imagine no longer chasing key words but instead having it down to the exact wording people use because they say things in a certain way.
Do you know anyone who says Crick vs Creek?……How about “Wash”…vs “Warsh”…….here’s another one….“Milk”…vs “Malk”….see where this is going?. Same thing for “Axe” vs “Ask”
Facebook or Google can’t do this deep of a search yet, but they will be able to soon!
Now keep in mind there will be data to look at and you can see the most use terms but just imagine all the millions of people who don’t all speak the same? it opens a whole new world for people to market to on the web because the searches are so broad now that it opens up the game for a lot of (2)
Voice commands change how people see results, the new A.I algorithm will locate search results based on set criteria. So if you know that people speak a certain way and you want to market to just them… you can do it.
“VR Search……I need to find my  wife something sexy for Valentine’s Day, she’s pissed at me”……if you target that, people with pissed off wives will find your ad vs anyone else’s because you targeted their (in the moment wording)
Think of this folks. You no longer advertise based on one or two keywords, now its all about real time interaction and how it can be manipulated.
“VR Search…find me the cheapest (Blank)“…emphasis on the word “Cheapest”. Most people who look for deals use that word.
“VR Search…..locate the (cleanest) food places in downtown Detroit”, if your business ad or content mentions that you have Clean restrooms” then that could be the one thing that separates you from the pack.
“VR Search….How the hell do you buy a birthday gift for a 75 year old who doesn’t want anything” (VR Search will take in consideration people who have had similar questions like that and where the ended up shopping for a gift).
Imagine the possibilities folks…..its endless!
Next week is the last week for the Masters Class for the month of March. I’ve been saying for a long time now that you shouldn’t get to comfy with PPC Ads or relying on Ad Word campaigns because most people will be doing a whole different thing as soon as its available for the masses to use.
I’ve seen what this new stuff can do, and its awsome! Facebook will use it for sure and so will Google, plan on adapting to new things once again because platforms are changing.FBCoverB

Meet The Mentor: Do You Suffer From Excusitis?

I have a test I use on students. It’s a social media test and it gauges how much time you waste time posting things that do you no good. I don’t tell students that I do this but its part of their training when they are in my program.
I’ll break it down so you can see how this works. Most of my students suffer from bad habits, one of them is “Excusitis” this happens a lot because people get side tracked with bullshit drama in their life vs working on building their business.7-steps-to-get-beyond-excuses-5-638
Today I had to let a student go……yup, it was bad! Let me show you what their past week looked like and then you can see how bad it gets. This person told me they couldn’t get everything done for the week because they were too busy with “WORK”, then after it was time to hand in the work for the week this guy got defensive and lashed out at me because I was holding him to a higher standard of accountability (which is why he signed up for the program) .You can decide whether or not they deserve a second chance.
Monday 13th – Gets into an argument on Facebook about president Trump Online. The feed goes 27 comments deep and lasted longer than 2 hours.  Student tells me he head no time for a blog or a video that day because he was tied up with work.
Tuesday 14th – Tells me they can’t post a quick shout out video for followers on instagram because they are too busy……later (same day) they posted on Instagram but it was about over priced car service repairs from a place they just had work done. They had time to bitch but not time to promote?
Wednesday 15th – Spends the day cleaning the garage, yup that was it, nothing else for the day.
Thursday 16th – Watched March Madness, posted about scores and never posted a blog or video for the day.
Friday 17th – Watched College Basketball again, went to lunch with buddies, took pics of that, came back home.
Here is his reply to me for kicking out of the program.
“You know Mike, not everyone wants to work as hard as you do” I don’t spend my whole day working, I have a life to ya know and what good is working if you can’t enjoy life at all? You need to realize that people can’t life up to impossible standards that you set, no wonder so many people fail your classes”.
Nice message….he sounds like someone who was given tasks that were impossible to complete. Ladies and Gentlemen if I asked you to post a video each day on Instagram for the week, would that be a hard thing to accomplish? You only get 1:00 of recording time so would it be a lot to ask for maybe….6-7 minutes of video week from you so people can see and hear about your business more? That is what this argument was about and it shouldn’t have happened but things like this happen all the time in my classes because people have a big problem with following through on things and they have a lot of fear they refuse to get past.Blog-Article-two-photo-Are-your-excuses-more-important-than-your-dreams
The work I assign in my classes is easy on purpose, that too is a test. If you complain about class work, then you’ll never do what’s expected of you out in the real world when no one’s watching you. Every student who has failed my program did so because they didn’t do the work and tried to lie their way out of it.
If they were honest about messing up, I would still work with them because part of gaining progress means that you identify with the crappy habits you still hold onto. You can’t break habits that you are not aware of. Being honest with yourself is part of the program and how you grow as a business owner.
Now I could be a total asshole and post his text messages that show him having excuses vs him being all rough and tough. It’s very sad to me that I have people who sign up to get better at something and all they do is complain when being instructed and the worst part is they bring it on themselves by not doing the work and falling into comfort zones.
I bet if I was Tony Robbins and I asked this guy to post a video on Instagram he would do it. Part of the reason people fight me is because they think I don’t know what I am talking about so when they fail a task, they blame me which is a habit they have developed over time and they have kind of perfected it because its so quick to come out anytime a problem comes up. It’s called “Excusitis”6e13ef4240d377e4c6eb09e87f4e869c
The reason I bring this test up is because this is what people do without even thinking twice about it. They pay money for a class to develop new skills and gain new knowledge and then they turn around do screw off.
Being side tracked is a huge problem with people and what’s worse is when you assign them work that they say they need help with but then they don’t do it. They procrastinate until the last minute to get anything done and then try to lie to get out of being in trouble.
Being in business for yourself is not a game, its a real world battle for positioning in life. You either work hard to grow, or you work hard to keep yourself occupied with things that don’t matter. I’m real big on people keeping their word so be careful around me because if you promise to do something I will actually believe you until your work ethic shows me otherwise and if that happens, I’ll never trust you or work with you again!
It’s hard to find honest and credible people these days! Work hard and try and be one of those people. Believe me you will stand out if you do.FBCoverB

You Can’t Knock The Hustle, There is Always Work To Be Done!

I had a guy named Franklin reach out to me on Facebook and he tells me that I’ll never understand what operating a real business is like. I laughed at him and said “Oh really”?
Here is what he said……“Michael you work too much”, you are always busy and always working and that is not how successful people operate”.
{ME} – You sound like one of those hype men at a seminar, what are you trying to get me into?….Forex?…..Click Funnels?….which is it?….Diabetic Test Strip Selling?
{Franklin} – When you work a lot in a business, the business owns you vs you owning it.
{ME} Oh boy here we go!, you sound like one of those know it all, motivational speakers so let me shatter your pitch so you can stop doing this to people because what you are suggesting is just not accurate. Even if you have workers and everything outsources in your business, you still have to pay attention to it every single day. What are your people doing? is everyone being productive? are numbers dropping? what’s the ROI on marketing this month?
So you are telling me that you ignore all of that and just sit back and collect money?…I call bullshit. I know people who make $200k a month on autopilot with rentals and not one of them sits on their ass. They don’t have to show up to a job, but they still have a lot of responsibilities to the business. If anything, you are a silent, full time baby sitter to your business. Telling people that they are not a real business owner just because they still work is just plain stupid and not a good idea either.
{Franklin} – I guess you don’t understand the “Lap Top Lifestyle”
{ME} – Oh here we go! “Laptop Lifestyle”?…Oh you mean sit back and make money on your laptop all day and then do nothing else…is that what you mean? I work from home so Yes, I know what that term implies vs what it should really mean.
{Franklin} – You are wasting time on building a traditional business. If you don’t have systems, then you are a worker vs a true business owner.
{ME} – HA HA, are you done now believing this crap? Grant Cardone is worth $400 Million… everyday! Gary Vaynerchuk is worth $150 Million, works everyday. Tony Robbins, worth about 1 Billion, works everyday. All of these guys have systems and people who work for them and not one of them sits on their ass all day doing nothing so are they doing it all wrong too?images (2)
{Franklin} – They work only because they love what they do.
{Me} – And that’s why I work everyday. I’m not one of those people who can just sit around all day and rely on a system to keep bringing me in money each month, I need to be busy or else I freak out, besides I have this feeling you are bias because you sound like one of those brand new people who just got started with click funnels and you are brainwashed into thinking that if you work hard enough, you can make ton of money and just open your laptop everyday and check your new bank balance?….is that what you think?
{Franklin} – Why is that stupid? and yes, I am actually a part of a TEAM who teaches this stuff. If you haven’t been to one of their events, then you really don’t know what this is all about.
{Me} – Oh yes I do actually in fact, I’ve asked to speak at their events and they won’t return my calls. This is an area that I excel in so here we go. Click funnel webpages are being targeted by search engines now so its much harder and much more expensive to convert traffic from that type of set up. Your teachers won’t tell you this because they want you paying a monthly membership fee to them and that is all they want from you so in the end, you got suckered into a business model that you feel will make you rich really fast and then once that happens, you can sit back and enjoy the money until you die.
{Franklin} – Have you ever done this type of business before?
{Me} – Nope, but I have students in my program who are and they tried to get me into it (much like you are) and once I explained to them all the work involved with that, they seemed kind of angry.
{Franklin} – Why would they be angry?
{Me} – Because its not as great as they make it sound. Landing pages and Doorways pages are now hated by search engines. This update was implemented on March 8th and it was called the “FRED” update.
{Franklin} – So what you are telling me is that my teachers are lying to me? That’s not nice to say, where is your proof?
{Me} – They are doing the typical seminar guru bullshit, they get you all hyped up and then only show you the basics. Once you start “NOT” making money, their go to phrase will be “It takes time to get these ads to convert”. The truth is, it only takes a few minutes to get a new page to start getting responses, it doesn’t take long at all but they will tell it does so that you don’t quit the program. Go ask your teacher about ranking signals and algorithm changes and see if they have a ton of knowledge to dump on you, otherwise they are just selling you another system that they say can’t be denied.
If they can’t answer any of the ranking signal questions then you are being sold a system that is not based on telling people 100% the truth and that is because your teachers don’t even know about the new changes so they just teach you how to saturate the market with targeted ads and in their minds as long as you get tons and tons of traffic to your pages it won’t matter because eventually some of that traffic will convert.

This is stupid because the more unconverted traffic you are getting, the worse your ad ranks overall and then it gets “Ghosted” by search engines which means its not even seen anymore so then it under performs and when that happens you are told to try new keywords and make new ads which means?……spend more money!

Pages like this are now hated by Google….Just so you know!

{Franklin} – So then I should just quit?
{Me} – Nope, instead actually get educated about what it is you are doing. Stop relying on keywords and only what your teachers are telling you. My information comes from the people directly at Google. I somehow doubt your teacher knows the SEO laws like I do because only 47 people sat in on that last Google SEO update video and I didn’t see any guru’s names in that chat room so unless they are pals with the people at Google, then they don’t know this material.
{Franklin} – So you are calling them liars?
{Me} – Technically…..YES! because I can go onto their sites and see just exactly how they are making their money. I can see what keywords they use the most and how. I can also see what links trace back to them. This is not something rare, if you understand SEO at all you can trace people’s work. Your guru isn’t telling you the whole truth about how this all works and here you are sitting online telling people “If you work in your business you don’t own it, it owns you”, but yet here you are not even knowing the complete story about what it is you are actually being sold on. Most of your Guru’s are manipulating the system and in my Masters Class, I show people just how they do this.
{Franklin} – I’m still new at this sales funnel thing so I’m just getting things going now.
{Me} – How long have you been involved with this?
{Franklin} – about 6 months now.
{ME} – That’s not being new anymore so after 6 months, what I just told you is something you never hard before?
{Franklin} – That’s all news to me and if it was actually important, I would think these people would know all about it.
{ME} – You need a new teacher or guru to follow who will be more honest with you about all of this because this click funnel method is something that caters to people who don’t like work so they do this in the hopes that it makes them enough money to the point where they can buy back their time. I don’t care what type of business you have, as the owner, you don’t have days off. As much as you don’t want to believe that you still are accountable to a lot of things and this whole “Laptop Lifestyle” bullshit pitch that you are falling for is more work than they are selling you on.
{Franklin} – Well, I’m not quitting because I believe what I am doing is going to work.
{Me} – You can have all the belief you want, but if you don’t fully understand how something works in real time, then all the hope in the world won’t fix that. What if I told you that Google will hate anything you post that doesn’t cater to the users query?
{Franklin} What do you mean?wmt1
{Me} – Google wants your webpages to answer a users question with just one page! Click Funnels are designed to take you from one page to another and then to another. That is called “Doorway Pages” and when you have those, Google redirects incoming traffic for those search queries that you would be getting, and it transfers them to a page with a higher “Authority Score” this means that Google see’s their webpages as a much better source of information.
This gets done without you knowing and the result of this is you not getting any converted traffic so what will you do once that happens?……make new ads and spend more money so for a guy who seems to think that I work too hard in my businesses, you sir still don’t have all the facts about what it is you are even trying to do. Before you start lecturing people about how they should be running their business, you might want to learn how yours even works before you start doing something like that.
{Franklin} – Ok Mr. Know It All….
{ME} – No reason to get defensive just because someone pointed out that your seminar guru isn’t telling you all the details. I’m not lying about any of this. I don’t think you like what I had to say because it goes against everything you are being taught right now and I’m here to tell you the truth. No business owner sits on their ass all day and just makes money on auto pilot, behind the scenes those people are working but not telling you. Its a status thing they sell to people because that is how you get butts in the seats at an event, trust me I use to say the same shit back when I was in Network Marketing. I said whatever I had to in order to get people to just show up.
A real business owner always looks for new growth and that doesn’t happen sitting around doing nothing all day. Stop thinking that there is some magical finish line of money waiting for you. There is always going to be work that needs to be done and it will be work that only YOU can do so get it out of your head that one day you will suddenly just have enough money to ignore your business 100%., If billionaires still work, then you will still be working, just in a different capacity! I would stop looking forward to that, and focus in more on actually understanding what it is that you are trying to do because you are not very well informed on how opt-in pages are now looked at.
{Franklin} – I just looked you up online and I see a ton of your content that talks about this stuff so you must actually know this huh?
{Me} – Why do people have a hard time believing that some people actually do research?Yes I do know this stuff, and it makes no sense to get your hopes up on any business opportunity unless you fully understand what you are up against. I have pals who make money on click funnels so it does work BUT, they are not sitting around all day doing nothing, so don’t think that you will someday be doing that. If you own any business, there is always work to be done vs thinking that your laptop will just make you money to the point where you sit on your ass all the
{Franklin} – My teacher lives the laptop lifestyle, he can go and do whatever he wants, whenever he wants.
{ME} – Really? is that why he has all these events booked he is speaking at? because he is financially free? If it was me, I wouldn’t be speaking to anyone, I’d be out fishing, or traveling vs any of what he is doing. Your guru teaches you how to live a laptop lifestyle, but yet here is working like crazy to try and get his brand more recognition? How can you not see that? He’s not sitting around relying on his systems or laptop is he?, so what makes you believe you will be doing less than what he is once the money starts to pour in?
{Franklin} – I was told that once you set things up, it runs itself.
{ME} – Oh my god Franklin that doesn’t mean you stop paying attention to the business, if anything you have to be the one who is the most involved! Franklin if you want a lifestyle that welcomes in more money then you have to realize that you just signed up to become a much more accountable person, not just with work priorities but also with money management and future growth.
This life is hard, being your own boss is hard, and it takes a shit load of work to make it all come together and then STAY TOGETHER! If you want to really stand out and impress people, don’t go around telling them to work hard so they can be lazy someday. Instead show everyone how much of a beast you are and how much hustle you have because that will attract more attention than you just telling people that you will be rich really fast and then not have to do anything. Smart people know better!
{Franklin} – I hated you when we first started to chat, after a while I see that you not trying to be mean but you are trying to just make me aware of somethings and thats cool.
{Me} –  Franklin, I always end up looking like the bad guy because I have the details that most people don’t pay attention to. Those details matter especially when you are trying to gain quality traffic online for your business. Like I said, Click Funnels can work, but you need to know all about them or else it becomes an expensive hobby vs a business that can rely on steady income each month.
This blog was posted so that people can see that behind the scenes I have people who will argue with me but this is their way of asking questions. I don’t expect people to understand it but this sometimes is how people get past their fears, if they have to be defensive I am ok with that but if I shows them facts about something and they still argue, well then they are just bias.
Over the last 20 years I have noticed a lot of people getting all amped up for the chance to make easy money online and they are not being told how hard it is to build that up. I understand that people have to motive others at a seminar with best case scenario’s, but people need to know all the truth’s about how money is actually made online because what a lot of guru’s don’t tell you is…..they use their fame to increase traffic and there are ways to do that and seminars is just one of them.
They will show you the steps they took to get things up and going, but no one will show you all the tricks of the trade. I almost called Meet The Mentor something else, I was going to call it “The Anti-Guru Zone” because a lot of my content is based on a lot of the things that seminars leave out. I sit in on events, I take notes, and I start outlining all the things they are not telling the audience but they should be.
I then write a blog or do a Podcast on some of that content but for the most part I teach a lot of the deeper content inside the classes I host. After 20 years of watching seminars evolve and how they get set up, I made sure that my program never turned into one of those platforms. This guy Franklin is a good guy. He’s passionate and fired up, but at the same time he is scared because after 6 months of work, he has no money coming into his funnels and part of the reason he got defensive with me was so he could pull information out of me (Smart Move).
I recognize this tactic in a lot of people. Sometimes its the only way they know how to ask for help. I am not an SEO know it all, but I do know whats going on right now, I have changed how I create content because of the new changes and it has worked well. My goal for Meet The Mentor is to just be straight with people. Be Honest, Try New Things, Work Hard, and Move On!
I get a lot of people like Franklin in my classes. They get started in something new and after a while it doesn’t work like they thought it should so they try to see if its them, or if they need more information that will allow them to grow in new ways. A lot of the classes we have are based around lead generation, branding, social media marketing, and networking. There is a lot that gets covered in the Meet The Mentor classes band I am not bias to any one industry, I look for missing pieces in all areas.
Whether its a network marketing seminar, or a copy writing meet up, or an SEO master mind group, I do a ton of research on what’s being taught to people and what important things are being left out. That is what Meet The Mentor was built on, so seeing chats like the one I had with Franklin happen very often. I like sharing some of them because I know there are people out there who can relate to this type of dialogue.
Its real life in action and sometimes its not pretty, but that’s where communication skills comes in. Franklin could have taken off and said “Eat Shit”….but he didn’t. What you see here is a shortened version of our chat. (believe me it was a long chat). I hope you enjoyed it and maybe got something out of this because behind the scenes folks, personal development is not fun, its hard, there will be conflict and doubt and fear and more. I get it because I use to do the same things 20 years ago, now I work to train people how to break those ideas and habits because I know how to move on from all that crap.

Did You Know?

I wasn’t going to post this because I kept this information only for my Master Class students but its such a big problem that it needs to be paid attention to. This blog post is not bullshit, and its not a game. A lot is going on right now with SEO and algorithms on all platforms. People are already behind on a lot of the new changes so I hope this post helps some of you better understand what it is that you are doing.
This might scare some of you affiliate marketers out there who use funnel sites to capture leads.
On March 8th, Google did an update called “FRED” This new update was created to target “Quality” sites for ranking. When they started testing sites that had a lot of traffic, they noticed something and its disturbing. Google won’t even mention they did this update but its very real so pay read this carefully.
95% of the high traffic sites that were tested were Affiliate Sites, and Ad Sense Sites. These pages had spun content which means they didn’t write it themselves, it was a created template that someone else made for them and there was duplicate ad pages like this all over the web. When people try to pass that off as their own work, Google knows this. You are not Sneaky! There is a term for this and its called “Thin Content”thin-content
How do you get caught? When you post online, your pictures and even your layouts are coded, so is the location of your URL. When your pages are the same codes as millions of others and all of you post the same spun content from new ads, it now matters more than ever NOT TO DO THAT, because Google will kill off any credible traffic to those pages once you are found out.
When seminar people tell you “Use these keywords and use our scripts” what that tells Google is you are creating copy cats by the millions and that kills the quality of those type of ads or posts. Guru’s will show you their income from those ads and how well they performed but they won’t tell you how shitty the conversions were and they don’t care either because they have enough money to make new ads that will make up some losses.
Ever wonder why ads convert so badly?…..thats why, and its about to get worse for people who use those as ways to get web traffic to a purchasing site……Hold onto your butts!Avoid_Thin_Content
Barry Shwartz at SEO Round Table tested this new FRED update because people were wondering if their “Links” were effected by this new update. He tested somethings and found that the quality of the content on the sites he tested was crap. They pretty much were in place to guide a person to yet another site or to another opt-in page (sound familiar anyone?).
When you take a template script that is provided by a program and you change the wording out it still doesn’t matter, you are still posting on a preset platform which is coded a set way.

Google’s new algorithm is out hunting your content right now. If you copy cat others and use templates, you will start losing the “GOOD” web traffic because Google hates sites that just drive traffic and hardly ever convert (like most all click funnel pages).

Time to be a good content creator or be “Ghosted” = (Not Visible)

Why does this matter? if you use affiliate pages and click funnels and you get a million hits, and out of those million hits, 96% drop off and do nothing, that tells Google your site is crap and you are most likely impulsing them with a targeted ad and for that Google thinks it should be ignored so they cut off “useful” traffic to your pages and redirects it to someone else’s who converts better because the content is original and its detailed. Google will do this without telling you so when your ad starts to suck and convert like shit… you know why and by the way, this kills your SEO long term so whats the only solution?
Spend more money and create more ads the same way until you get caught again and then rinse and repeat. Its a sess pool of money spending and it never ends. I hope they tell you this stuff in those weekend seminars that you are attending. Don’t be bias to Vanity Numbers and Vanity Metrics. Getting 1 million hits on your site isn’t impressive when you convert 3% of that or less to the next
Google hates this because they believe if a user types in a search query then it should only take ONE PAGE to answer their question. The more you send a user from page to page or link to link and toss nothing but opt-in pages at them, Google attacks your traffic flow so the only way to offset that is to hope to god that you get enough traffic that converts to make some money so you can make new ads that will make up some difference in lost traffic.
If your mentors are not telling you about these SEO changes, then they are sending you on a wild goose chase of spending more money than you ever should all because they themselves do not know this stuff.
In the end, you sign up for their stuff, and buy into their programs because they tell you its easy and a for sure thing and then they show you pictures of their nice car and that convinced you to believe that click funnels is the best option for you.
Oh don’t get me wrong they can work…..but you better have money to keep it going especially now that ranking changes have happened and Google is now targeting those sites you rely on so much.

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. If you have no idea what I just posted about… are behind and already being passed by you competitors…enjoy the ride folks, its just starting!

Quality means your pages are “In Depth” with detail. If you rely only on Opt-In or Landing Pages then your pages are considered “Thin Content” Hope your guru tells you this before you sign up.

In the end folks, if someone is telling you that funnels is the best thing on earth, tell them no thanks, you have better things to do with your money because those things are solely dependent on how often you update and run new ads (IN REAL TIME) and for those of you who are broke or have a limited budget and you signed up for this stuff because you thought it was going to bring you RICHES, you’ll get eaten alive by those who can outspend you and that is the game you are in for that niche….have fun!
I’m not naming names but some famous Youtube people who use click funnels and promote them need to start being honest with the people who go to their events and start telling people this information because click funnels are the worst sites to put on the web, they convert like crap and you have to rely on non stop incoming traffic to even keep that afloat and that all costs more than they teach you it does.

consistent, compelling content

Sorry!…but this is what Google wants from you!

My information comes directly from the testers at Google. I didn’t see any guru’s at the events or meetups that I attended so there is no way for them to know this info unless they were there.

People Love Seminars, Too Bad They Treat Them Like Rock Concerts.

How many of you have ever been to a seminar? I was a seminar junkie when I was younger and I always loved traveling to them and learning new things. Over the years I started to notice a trend with people who went to these events. They treat these things like tailgating at a rock concert.
You see people coming in all excited, they can’t wait for the show to start and then after a few days of being home, the high energy and vibe you were engaged in is all gone so what do you do?……get tickets to the next event so you can go ROCK OUT once again.

I will never forget one of the best speakers I ever heard, it was at a comedy show in Chicago at the Rosemont Theatre. I went to go see George Carlin that night and the guy who opened for him was a comedian who played guitar and sang parody songs on stage. He comes out, doesn’t say a word for like 10 seconds, then he blurts out “ARE YOU READY TO ROCK”?……..The place goes nuts, everyone is screaming and then he softly says “Then why are you at a comedy show”?

Rosemont Theatre, Rosemont Illinois

That was how he opened his bit and people laughed but I think I was the only person in the audience who thought to myself “Holy Shit” Seminar people have the same mindset, they come in with expectations of one thing but end up finding out its something else. Once they get to an event, after a few hours they start tuning out, playing on their phone, and they stop taking notes. The whole excitement of the moment has now worn off after a little bit and that is where most people fail at these events.
As soon as one thing comes up at that event that isn’t super awsome in their eyes, they tune out and start going back to old habits. It’s weird that a comedy show would be used almost 20 years later as a place where I got the idea to start looking into seminar behavior more but here it is.
You know something interesting? You see all these seminars coming out with these “All Star” line ups. So here is the question. Out of all the speakers…..who is the most right? Who’s advice do you take, how come there isn’t just one theme and they all target that? I don’t like “All Star” lineups for any seminar because its a Guru tactic to take advantage of other people’s fame and center it around you. This tactic has been around forever.
Guru’s will do this because if they add in famous speakers to their line up, all the followers of those people will not connect with YOU if you are hosting the event and in return that turns into a hell of a lot of web traffic that YOU don’t have to pay for, it will naturally flow to you.
The intent is nice and they want you to believe its all for you, but in the end its a self promoting expose of non stop people promoting their brand and personal philosophy’s. This is why a lot of people at seminars never end up doing any of the work that gets taught at those things. They get pulled in so many directions emotionally and end up losing track of what one person said because someone else said something cooler or wiser or worse, they end up falling asleep of paying attention to their phone.1st day
Very soon you will start seeing a lot of “Marketing Seminars” popping now because of all the changes happening to search engines. Smart guru’s are already on top of this. Social Media Influencer’s are jumping all over this as well and everyone and their mom is going to tell you how “THEY” made something work for them. Your job is to take notes and try out everything you hear from that weekend and hope it all works out for you.
Most of it will be good content, and you will fail a lot when you try most of it, but eventually something that you try out brand new will stick and then you have yet another building tool to add to your arsenal in life. The problem is people burn out before they get a chance to test out all those new ideas. Seminars are not personal and that is what people need more of, believe me I’ve been to enough seminars myself to see that this is a problem.
A large portion of people who attend seminars only do so because they want to be closer to a certain speaker or maybe get a picture taken with them so they can gain some status on social media in some way. These people are “Seminar Groupies” and much like people who go to rock concerts and follow a certain band around, these seminar people go to all the events and most of them only go to be “SEEN”, vs actually being a student.
They will take notes and show proof they are a hard worker but after a few days of being home away from the hype of a seminar, reality sets in and then you find out what people are made of in terms of their work habits and real intentions. They buy all the books and attend all the events, but do half the work, or none at all.
Much like a rock concert, most people after a seminar just want to get home and sleep in their bed and wake up the next day with some of that fire burning inside them but much like a rock concert, the fun and the excitement fades and that is why seminars are not for everyone, only the disciplined.burnout-600x600
I sat through SEO and Copy Writing seminars all last year. Those are not super exciting events but I noticed something, not one of the speakers said the same thing. If I sat back and looked at it as a whole. I had 37 different speakers telling me to do 37 different things. No wonder people can’t ever seem to get value from seminars most of the time, they have too much information overload and think they can do all of it, but end up doing none of it.
This is why I created Meet The Mentor a few years ago. I realized that most people don’t want to spend time in seminars, or pay thousands of dollars to go to a weekend event and stay in a hotel when they would rather stay at home and just get the information that way. I went to over 100 seminars in my life and I saw a huge demand for this type of training that Meet The Mentor does.
Why go to a weekend event when you already know that you don’t do the work afterwards anyway? People have convinced themselves that if they don’t go to seminars then they will not be seen as a hustler in life or a leader.
It’s about education and actually doing work folks and not about just being seen or trying to increase your popularity on social media! I’ve seen way too many people pay tons of money to sit for a weekend in a place where they pump you full content and you literally retain 5% of the information you just sat through and once you get home from an event like that you will apply an even lesser percentage because the hype and excitement wears off pretty quick.
I stayed in hotels and I did all that stuff too but I know its not the best platform for most people to actually learn especially when it comes to paying attention to details. I know a seminar is not the best setting for most people to learn from because if anything, its too much information too soon and they get overwhelmed by it and then get intimidated by the work load.

What ends up happening is, they will try some new ideas, fail at a few and then quit working hard after that. It’s instant burnout! When the hype of a weekend event doesn’t match up to how things are in real life, it hits people hard and most can’t handle the disappointment.

If The Data is Good, Then The Hype Lasts Long After The Event is Over. People Will Praise a Speaker and Their Presentation, but Then Turn Around and do None of The Work.

People want the knowledge alright, but having to sit through a weekend and take notes is not very appealing to many people and that is why most people who attend seminars never do anything with the information they just learned….because they were tuning out during the event.
I watched a famous speaker recently online at an event. The people in the front row were not even paying attention. They were on their phones and not even looking up. It’s people like that who never create breakthrough’s.
When I created Meet The Mentor, the goal was to take out that seminar feel and make it more like a group gathering. We are in the 3rd week of the Masters Class and so far not one person has giving me any issues.masters class blue
In my Accountability Classes I get people who fight with me all the time because they don’t want to do certain things like “Post an Instagram Video” or “Actually be in the videos they post” so they argue about it and its gets them nowhere.
The Masters Class people are a different breed. They are a hungry bunch of people who are starving for more knowledge. this group I have right now is loaded with stars. These people came to the class not only prepared, but they also come in with an open mind because when you get a room full of alpha males and females… can get intense sometimes.
My hats off to the people in the class right now. Not only are they doing well in the class and taking good notes, but they are also doing the work “NOW” vs waiting for some magical day to come along where they all of the sudden work like a person who wants to go somewhere in life.
Meet The Mentor is a program for those people who have been to seminars and have not seen any changes in their business. “Seminar Sickness” is real folks, sometimes a change of scenery is just what you need hence why the classes we host are so small. Don’t get overwhelmed by 100 people telling you to do 100 different things. Instead learn the information that would be presented at those events but then have it delivered to you in a way that makes more sense because you can actually talk to the host directly on camera.
When I host these Masters Classes, students are “Live” with me online and they can ask questions at anytime. Having that type of “Live” interaction is important to people because many times they need clarification on things and by them asking questions in real time ,that helps them learn better because they are getting instant responses vs just relying on speakers notes.FBCoverB

What Do You Want To Be Known For?

Do you know anyone who leases an exotic car every year and uses that car as a Branding Tool? This seems to be a big thing on Instagram now.
I will never post a picture of a check or a car or anything like that ever again on social media. That’s not what I want to be known for or linked to. I did that a year ago and the results were not good.
When I bought my BMW a year ago, I set that as a year long goal and once I finally hit that goal, I posted my check that helped pay for it “all cash” and all I received for the most part was shit from people telling me that BMW’s are crap and they break all the time and they are expensive to repair (Nice Friends I Have) so now I keep my personal life stuff off Facebook.

I Will Never Post Like This Again on Social Media. It Brought Me Nothing But Problems!

If I buy something nice or brand new, I seriously doubt people care so I’ll stick to just posting educational content and video game highlights on my feed along with music stuff and maybe some humor tossed in there from time to time.
When you post things like cars or checks, it brings you all the wrong attention. No one gave a rats ass about my program or book, but once I started posting checks I was all of the sudden “The Man”
I don’t want that type of attention and not from those type of people. I learned a hard lesson last year. I ended up trying to train 130 people last year in my program who were fake people and not real grinders at all and because of that terrible experience, I revamped my program and changed how I brand myself.
My job is not to show people my checks and make them think I am hot shit. My job is to make people realize that I know a lot of things about social media that a lot of people don’t because I put in the work to learn all that. I value education and hard work over shiny things any day.

Don’t Be This Person!

I don’t place any value on showing people how well I can do my job or how much money I can make in a year. None of that matters to me because its not a benchmark for success. Half the people I coach make more money than I do anyway so its not my personal success that draws people to my classes, its the education that I offer that no one else teaches. I value things  like “Teaching people valuable content” or “Helping them gain confidence with new skills”. I want to be known for the value I can bring people vs the stuff I can buy.
No one signs up for my classes because I paid cash for a BMW a year ago, they don’t even ask about it. All people care about is “Can you give me new information that will allow me better leverage in my niche” and my answer to that question is YES!FBCoverB

Mentors: Do You Get Social Media Texts Like This?

I have the best chats with people on social media sometimes. Usually everyday I get a few trolls who come after me and I actually respond to most of them. I don’t do this to defend myself or anything, I do this for research.
As a person who has a mentorship program, it is my job to try and understand human behavior to a certain degree. I have to recognize patterns and habits with people so that I can start to mold the newer version of them in effective ways through various training.
One of the hardest things I deal with daily is mean people or just angry people who like to try and cut you down or degrade anything you have ever posted on social media. I post a lot of content that is meant to educate people. I always liked it when  I stumbled upon something cool that interested me and I learned from it so in return I like to try and do that for people out there who are just like me. My hope is they gravitate to my content because is something they can relate to or maybe use and gain from it in some way.maxresdefault (1)
What I am about to show you was a back and forth Facebook text that went of for a few minutes. This guy called me out on my SEO stuff and I had no problem handling him. I hope you can understand that people get defensive when you tell them that they are not doing certain things right and because of that, their business will be impacted. Keep in mind that this guy came to me and started asking questions. I know he was testing me which is fine, my info comes from the people at Google and who do the testing for them so fire away bitches!
{Facebook Hater} – I’m thinking you need to go back to school because your info about SEO is wrong 100% and I have proof with my numbers. I’ll show you my ad word campaigns and how well they do. You are trying to mislead people you fuck!
{ME} – What if I told you that Google doesn’t really focus on Keywords for rankings signals and that anyone who chases after keywords still is already behind the shift that just happened with the algorithms back in February?
{Facebook Hater} – “OK Mike Whatever, my numbers are good for PPC LOL, Nice try! I’m converting awsome right now”
{Me} – You only see what the performing metrics show you, you can’t factor in all the traffic that you lost because your bounce rate is high or because you are not in line with the new guideline and google penalized you for it……how do you track that if you don’t even know about it? Do you realize you could be converting even better and at a lower cost if you knew how to look for the recent changes? For example….if you use your main Keyword in the title of your post or ad….that no longer matters at all for ranking with that keyword (did you know this). It’s not a ranking signal as much you think it is. So I’m guessing you title all your Facebook ads with the top keywords and then you just cross your fingers?
{Facebook Hater}WHAT?download
{ME} – If you don’t know the new rules and make the corrections then Google takes traffic that you would normally get and redirects it to pages that convert better than yours for the same KEYWORDS you are buying. Why is this happening?….because your content is too much like everything out there, its not well written and it doesn’t answer questions well enough and its just plain boring and Google see’s that so they take traffic and give it to someone else who performs a little better than you even if its Organic Content vs Paid.
{Facebook Hater} – You are full of shit, who even tells you this stuff LOL?
{ME} – The guys who constantly test the algorithms told me! you want their names? John Mueller and Gary Illyes they are the Webmasters and Trends Analysts at Google so go start some beef with them. When you rank online for a keyword, the algorithm programs traffic to flow your way BUT…only at a certain percentage (for example) If you are ranked on Google’s first page, you will get let’s say…. 4% of all the incoming traffic for that particular keyword based on your current ranking, out of that 4% traffic, the algorithm starts to go to work and then once you hit your 4% limit, all that extra traffic pouring in goes somewhere else because?…..someone on the first page converts better than you and whats really sucks is, they might even rank lower than you OUCH!
The algorithm decides whether or not the users search was a good fit for your site or someone else’s, if you rank higher than someone else but their content is better than yours…..guess what? you will be skipped and you will never know it! The new algorithm doesn’t favor just keywords like you think, it favors “User Experience” and “Quality” and how do you measure that? You can look at “Time spent on page” as a metric but do you really know whats going on with that person who didn’t click on things the way you wanted them to?
{Facebook Hater} – I have metrics I check daily that show me results. You are talking like you know something that I don’t.
{ME} – Those numbers only show you converted and performing traffic, yes I get it. Show me all the traffic you lost and where it went? Show me why you lost it. How much better is the person ranked ahead of you or below you and by how much? How much more keyword density do they have that allows them to stay ahead of you on the first page?….Do you know how to look for that? There is more I can ramble off about ranking signals but we can start here.
{Facebook Hater} – You are stupid, my numbers are good and I haven’t had any changes in my stats. I rank well and my business is thriving.
{ME} – would you like to see the results of an audit? because the new changes just happened and the new algorithm now works in “Real Time” so the effects will start happening anytime now.
{Facebook Hater} – how can you audit me? that sounds illegal?
{ME} – I can track what URL’s are linked to you and how they got there and how well they rank. I can see how much you use in paid marketing vs organic. I can see what keywords you are bias to and only use. I can see holes in your SEO game simply by checking your links and how big of an “Authority” score you have overall. According to my findings, you spend a shit load of money on ads, you have no organic content going out and you rely only on PPC and Facebook Ads……Am I right on that or am I way off?
{Facebook Hater} – I’m guessing that you just broke the law and got my information from some illegal source. I’m going to look into you and find out how shady you really are you fucking asshole!
{ME} – If you want, I can teach you how to get this information because it can be done pretty easy and very legally actually. You do however have to pay attention and actually learn somethings because this is technical work. If you are willing to learn I can show you how to get this info about your competitors vs being angry with me thinking that I am full of shit. Why do you think I post what I do? I did my research, I sat in seminars and classes and took notes for years on this so remind me again how much time you spent on learning all this? This is how I get my Content Ranked. I find holes in people’s SEO game and I take traffic away from them. Its called being savvy.
{Facebook Hater} – Fuck You, I’m not learning shit from you!Fuck_you.jpg
You see folks, I deal with a lot of interesting people during the day time. I have this type of chat online with people pretty much everyday. I get called names, I get threatened but I have to realize that there are just some people in this world who are set in their ways and its never going to change.
In terms of this whole keyword and ranking mindset, let me see if I can paint the picture inside your head. You bid on PPC Ads and you use AdWords Campaigns to get traffic to your websites. You base this decision on which keywords not only are the most popular, but that also convert the best (according to your metrics).
From there you sit back every month and monitor how well each keyword does, if one falls short, you can throw more money at it and increase your bid ratio or you can say “Piss on it” and then focus on the other keywords or maybe try out some new ones.
Am I getting this right? is this how people think when it comes to getting attention online for their brand? Sorry but that was cool last year…Yup, way back in 2016 that was cool!, we’ve moved on from that in case you did know.
Algorithms changed, ranking factors changed, Barrier for entry for Google’s first page has changed and this means “You” need to change because you could be paying for keywords every month like clock work and business as usual but never realize how badly you are not getting traffic anymore because of these changes.barrier-679x350
Your KPI’s can’t measure what you aren’t doing.
I know most business owners don’t know their real numbers because that would take getting an audit of all your sites and traffic sources and that would cost thousands of dollars so no one pays for those except major companies so they just rely on Google stats and the things they feel are important.
Sitting back each month relying on all that BIG DATA you are collecting is not going to help you. You need to look deeper, these changes will catch up to those who rely entirely on Paid ads for web traffic. I’m seeing it already. I already have guru’s emailing me telling me about this great new thing they will be presenting...(Click Funnels) SMH.
When Guru’s start recycling old ideas and pitching them to their followers, you know numbers are not consistent because they need to do things like this to drive new traffic because what they rely on is not giving them what they need.
Those tactics they are showing you are not new, just the bullshit pitch they developed for it is!
